Clinical Pharmacist - Outpatient/Ambulatory
Position Summary
The Outpatient Ambulatory Pharmacist will verify orders, help prepare medications for dispensing to patients, provide education and over-the-counter medication suggestions to patients, and use use their clinical knowledge to improve medication safety in the Outpatient setting. The Clinical Pharmacist supervises technical staff to ensure prompt and effective preparation and dispensing of medications.
Responsibilities
- Interprets and follows physician instructions to deliver the correct care to the correct patient.
- Oversees and verifies prescription order entry, packaging and dispensing.
- Evaluate drug therapy for appropriateness, effectiveness, safety, adherence, and affordability
- Provides medication-related information to healthcare professionals, patients and the public.
- Provides other clinical services as necessary to facilitate patient care.
- Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy or PharmD.
Currently licensed as a Pharmacist by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy.
Preferred
Experience with Epic EMR and Rx30 pharmacy system.
At least 1 year experience in an Outpatient Pharmacy setting.
BLS (CPR) Certified.
Immunization Certification through an accredited organization.
