The Medical Office Assistant is primarily responsible for appointment scheduling of physician follow-ups and coordinating with the Infusion scheduler to make sure appointments are in order.
Responsibilities
- This position will also perform regular maintenance on provider schedules according to the On Call schedule.
- Also collects copays and payments, answers basic billing questions, processes medical records batches, and answers incoming calls.
- The MOA will also work in conjunction with the New Patient Coordinator to make sure New Patients are scheduled accordingly.
- Cross-training may include training at Registration and in New Patient Coordination.
Qualifications
Associates Degreepreferred, but not required. Three years in a physician’s office with previous scheduling and collections experience is highly preferred. Experience with the Epic EMR, office skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and insurance terminology a plus. Excellent communication and computer skills required.
