Position Summary

Assist in development of capital and operating budgets. Responsible for management of capital and operating budgets.

Ensures accreditation standards, licensing, and regulatory requirements for DNV, CLIA, OSHA, Radiation Protection and others as required by Federal or State statues as applicable.

Creates and/or maintains processes that ensure that patient privacy and information is protected.

Develops, recommends, and implements policies and procedures for the clinics.                    

Hires and orients staff with assistance from FH Human Resource department and associated guidelines and policies.

Resolves patient complaints/concerns and reports appropriately.

Develops optimal scheduling process to maximize patient through-put.

Works in conjunction with Practice Management, Billing and Compliance staff to implement, monitor, and improve effective reimbursement procedures, including CPT and ICD-10 coding, in compliance with established third part billing regulations.

Assures a comprehensive onboarding and orientation for new providers.

Assures a comprehensive onboarding and orientation for new managers.

Assists with physician development activities.

Works closely with Executive Director of Ambulatory Operations to develop and implement new practices and practice sites.

Identifies appropriate practice models and implements necessary support for the designated practice or specialty. Correctly establishes the infrastructures needed to create and maintain the practice; including but not limited to staffing, equipment and supplies, plus establishes appropriate outside contracts. In addition, works through processes and workflows.

Assesses and applies the correct billing system and associated electronic medical record needs and flow to new sites.

Augments and coordinates appropriate marketing with FirstHealth Strategic Marketing Department.

Applies LEAN concepts and principles when processes and through-put impacting workflow of staff and provider is inefficient.

Coordinates necessary malpractice insurance and provider employment contracts.

Assess and correct as needed compliance and regulatory issues germane to the practice type.                 

Revisit practice sites at regular intervals to reassess functions and services provided for quality; intervene and take corrective actions as warranted.

At one-, three- and six-month intervals revisit practice billing and collections outcomes. Identify those implemented policies and protocols that are ineffective and adjust as needed.


Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare

Certification in compliance, coding or areas associated with practice management preferred.

Minimum5-10 years' experience in active practice management and/or project management.

Supervisory experience required.

Additional Skills:

Background in practice operational benchmarking, budgeting, compensation, and new project development.

Extensive experience with EMR utilization and implementation (EPIC preferred not required).

Extensive experience in ambulatory (physician clinic) operations

Capable of managing resources and implementing strategic plans that generate growth and new volume in a practice setting.

Experience in ensuring compliance with regulations and standards to maintain survey readiness for DNV & other regulatory agencies.

Knowledgeable about multiple systems and how each interrelates to a clinical setting.

Ability to plan, organize, and work independently.

Ability to practice effective communication techniques both orally and in writing.

Ability to establish and identify priorities within varied work requirements of this position.

Detail oriented

Training & presentation experience

The ideal candidate should be adept at troubleshooting, be able to manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously, be customer service oriented, and possess strong people skills who can collaboratively lead and support FHPG clinic operations within their assigned areas.

Highly skilled in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, insurance guidelines, including but not limited to reimbursement, third party payers, pre-certification, ICD-10and CPT
