Our busy Endoscopy unit is seeking a highly motivated RN to join our team! We are looking for a compassionate and skilled nurse who thrives in a fast-paced work environment and is committed to delivering exceptional care in all phases of care.
Responsibilities
*Pre-procedure Care: Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures by reviewing their medical history, obtaining necessary consents and explaining the procedure to ensure patient understanding and comfort. Establish IV access and ensure anesthesia guidelines have been met.
*Intra-procedure Care: Perform time-out, labeling and handling of specimens, assist during procedures as needed, including positioning of patients and obtaining supplies if needed.
*Post-procedure Care: Provide immediate post-procedure care, to include monitoring and assessing patient responses, providing instructions for aftercare and follow-up. Ensure patients are stable before discharge, as well as, signed out by anesthesia.
*Conscious sedation: Administer conscious sedation to patients as needed, closely monitor their responses and adjust sedation levels as ordered by physician to maintain safety and comfort.
*Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the entire healthcare team to ensure efficient workflow and optimal patient care. Communicate effectively with patients, families and other healthcare providers.
*Able to assist with back up late and call rotation. (Weekday, Weekend and holiday)
Qualifications
*Active RN license. BCLS, ACLS and PALS certified.
*Experience in Endoscopy, PACU, ICU or related field is preferred.
*Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
*Candidates should have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient safety and care quality.
