FirstHealth is seeking a dedicated and professional Switchboard Operator to answer and direct calls in a polite, efficient manner. This role is crucial for maintaining effective communication within our hospital and providing exceptional support to our physicians, staff, and patients.
Responsibilities
Call Management:
Answer and direct telephone calls through the switchboard.
Handle emergency codes and alarms promptly and accurately.
Provide services to FirstHealth physicians and staff using the beeper system, secure chat, and overhead paging.
Communication:
Ensure clear, concise, and professional communication.
Coordinate with other departments to provide necessary information for seamless operations.
Customer Service:
Deliver outstanding customer service by managing calls with politeness and professionalism.
Assist callers by directing them to the appropriate department or personnel.
Administrative Support:
Maintain accurate records of calls and messages.
Assist with additional administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferably one to two years of experience as a switchboard operator, receptionist, or clerk with public interaction.
Skills:
Strong computer skills.
Knowledge of health/medical insurance and medical terminology.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel or equivalent software (e.g., Libre).
Familiarity with email and calendar software.
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Work Environment:
Office environment with mobility and dexterity required for working with hands and arms.
