Night Shift Paramedic
Position Summary

This position performs technical work driving an ambulance, rescuing and transporting the sick and injured, administering emergency medical care, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and does related work as required.
Responsibilities
- An employee in this classification performs the duties of an Emergency Medical Technician at the Paramedic level; operating an approved mobile medical unit, rescuing victims and administering appropriate emergency medical care to patients while enroute to a hospital
- Employee is responsible for responding to the scene of emergency and non-emergency calls, applying necessary medical treatment to sick or injured persons and transporting persons to a medical facility
- Employee is exposed to the normal hazards of emergency rescue work, including risk of exposure to infectious diseases and blood-borne pathogens
- Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through observation, reports, and discussion concerning the quality and effectiveness of duties and responsibilities
Qualifications
- Ability to promote good public relations and work with citizens, doctors and hospital employees; ability to perform the physical activities required, to include, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pulling, stooping, walking and other physical exertions of 300 pounds of force with assistance
- Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license
- Certification by the North Carolina Medical Examiners Boards as a Paramedic
- NIMS certifications 100, 200, 700, and 800
- Possess ACLS, PALS and CPR Certification
- High school diploma or GE
