Registration Coordinator
Overview
Position Summary:Summary: Responsible for registration of patients, verification of insurance benefits, pre certifications and verification of demographic information. Responsibilities also may include financial assistance referrals and financial assistance as needed. This person will also be responsible for cash collections and cash posting receipts. PSR may also be required to work various shifts including weekends and holidays. PSR may be responsible for paging various code situations and must be knowledgeable in Safety policies and procedures. Bilingual skills preferred.
Montgomery Campus/Richmond Campus/Hoke Campus: Other duties may include assistance in prepping charts and various other office duties as required by supervisor. Individual will make announcements on the overhead paging system including emergencies. This person will contact relevant parties through the paging system. Additional duties also include being responsible for answering main switchboard.

Education/formal training/licenser/certification/experience:
High school graduate (or equivalent). Understanding of medical terminology. Two years experience in a medical related field preferred.
Additional Skills:
Strong verbal communication skills. Effectively able to manage multiple tasks in an organized manner. Must be able to type 35 wpm and be computer literate. The candidate/employee must be committed to excellent customer service when dealing with all types of patients, internal and external.
Working Conditions/Physical Demand
Primary office environment/workstation. Potential exposure to communicable disease.
- Stooping: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
- Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending the legs and the spine
- Standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time
- Medium physical effort is required in lifting up to 40 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Essential Sensory Requirements:
- Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; able to read, write, speak and comprehend the English Language.
- Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sound by ear.
Acuity, Far: Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Acuity, Near: Clarity of 20 inches or less

- Able to perform in frequent stressful situations
Exposure to Hazards:
- Constant exposure to chemicals, infectious, electrical and fire hazards. Exposure to blood and body fluids requiring Biohazard protection.
