NA II Emergency Department
Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant II performs specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of a licensed nurse. Functions within the framework of the NAII listing granted by the NC Board of Nursing. Practices within the philosophy and goals of patient care services.
Responsibilities
Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies.
Provide clinical support assistance to include, but not limited to, cleaning the work area, changing linens, re-stocking supplies, transporting patients/ supplies/ specimens, and assisting in the orientation of new employees and students.
Provide direct personal care to patients such as but not limited to, dressing, feeding, assisting with ambulation. Measure and record vital signs, and patient height and weight. May be responsible for specimen collection, catheter care, blood glucose checks, simple wound care, and urinary catheterization.
Qualifications
High School or GED is preferred - or higher
Active NAI listing with NC Division of Facilities Services Registry
Active NAII listing with North Carolina Board of Nursing is required.
