Position Summary

Moore Regional Hospital is the 400 bed flagship hospital for FirstHealth of the Carolinas, located in Pinehurst, North Carolina.  Our inpatient pharmacy is currently seeking a clinical staff pharmacist to join our team in providing exceptional care to the patients of Moore County.  Pharmacists rotate through our main pharmacy and our decentralized settings.  Clinical activities include multi-disciplinary rounds in critical care settings, initiation and follow up of pharmacokinetic monitoring, and assisting providers with antibiotic selection.  The opportunity exists to precept pharmacy students as well as PGY-1 pharmacy residents.  This is a 40 hour per week position consisting of one weekend per month and one evening per week, with the balance being daytime shift hours.  The position allows for occasional remote workdays.

Responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of pharmaceuticals and appropriate pharmacy practices.  Ability to work in and organize activities that are carried out in relation to established procedures and techniques within the pharmacy department.  Attention to detail is necessary as a means of preventing errors in interpretation and mathematical calculations.  Must be able to handle high volume workload and stressful situations, prioritize tasks and follow through to see that job responsibilities are completed.  Maintain clinical and professional competency levels appropriate to the services provided and to the needs of the different age groups served. Interpersonal communication skills are imperative to effectively communicate with both our professional customers and patients utilizing our services.  The position reports to the pharmacy supervisor and oversees departmental pharmacy technicians during the course of daily workflow.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy and currently licensed by the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy. Must acquire sufficient continuing education credits to fulfill state requirements for maintenance of license. Preference given to applicants who have completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency or can demonstrate equivalent experience.
