Full Time EMT/AEMT Position - Chatham

EMT/AEMT is responsible for ambulance operations and emergency/non-emergency care at the basic level in the pre-hospital environment and during ambulance transport of patients.
Responsibilities
- Functions on a two person ambulance crew
- Responds to and administers emergency medical services to the general public under the guidance of a licensed physician or as authorized by North Carolina medical practice standards
- Transports injured or ill patients to health care facilities
- Participates in required in-service training programs to remain abreast of changes in techniques in emergency medical service delivery or new methods of treatment
- Performs visual inspections of vehicles, radios, medical equipment and supplies; refuels vehicle and reports unsafe operating conditions of vehicles and radios; restocks supplies as required to maintain operational readiness
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required
- Current North Carolina EMT credential
- Have and maintain a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of North Carolina
- Ability to drive an ambulance safely and efficiently
- Current AHA BLS required
- Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
- Ability to effectively and efficiently utilize computer systems and programs
- Possess the ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff, and all others using proper channels of communication
