Certified Medical Assistant
Overview
Will be responsible for checking vital signs and obtaining/verifying patient medical history. Assisting with medical procedures, collecting and analyzing patient samples, helping with administrative duties, giving shots, getting patients ready for exams, calling in orders for prescriptions, tests and referrals.
Qualifications
The following, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
Education/formal training/licensure/certifications/experience:
Graduate of accredited program of Certified Medical Assistants, Registered Medical Assistant program or have at least 1 year of experience working under the direct supervision of a provider as a Medical Assistant. AAMA CMA, AMT RMA certification/registry or equivalent national certification or registry required.
Additional Skills:
Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients; strong interpersonal and verbal
communications skills; age-specific skills, ability to work with accuracy and speed, perform
several tasks at one time and react calmly and effectively in an emergency
