Overview
OR RN
Function in the circulator and/or surgical tech role during surgical procedures. Assess patients in the pre-op phase, care and advocate for the patient during the intra-operative phase and then transport to PACU/OP following surgical procedure.
The OR RN collaborates with the OR team to ensure supplies, implants, instruments, equipment, etc., are all ready and available during surgical procedures.
Coordinate schedule changes with Surgeons and the team to ensure cases are posted correctly and staf collaborate in an efective manner for ensuring positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Physical/Working conditions:
Able to access entire facility; lift, transport patients, supplies and equipment.
Demonstrates manual dexterity, hearing acuity, and verbal ability.
Displays ability for standing extended periods of time, walking, lifting, bending, and stooping for most of the workday.
Has sufficient endurance to perform tasks over extended periods of time.
Involves exposure to blood/body fluids, hazardous materials, and communicable diseases.
Participates in creating a safety culture by optimizing safety.
Psychosocial:
Able to deal with frustration and stress appropriately.
Able to facilitate effective and professional communication with staff, charge person, physicians, and other departments.

Education/formal training/licensure/certification experience:
Current North Carolina RN license or RN multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact required.
