Hospital Courier
Overview
FirstHealth of the Carolinas is a nationally recognized health care system located in central North Carolina. The Courier transports packages and equipment to facilities throughout the FirstHealth system. The Courier will pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers in a safe and timely manner. Works closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that the right supplies are available when needed, contributing to overall quality of patient care. The courier will also be required to perform other warehousing functions to meet business demands.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Current valid NC or SC drivers license (as appropriate) with a good driving history.
Positive interpersonal skills and good communication skills; effectively communicates with adult population. Flexible and open to change. Effective written and oral communication skills.
Must have manual dexterity and visual acuity. Must have mobility to assume awkward positions. Must have mobility to respond quickly should the need arise. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to bend and lift on a regular basis, of approximately 50 pounds. Position may involve skin, eyes mucous membrane, or parental contact with blood and other potentially infectious material. Potential risk of exposure to communicable diseases.
This area requires driving a hospital owned vehicle in all types of weather. The operator will spend much of their time driving short and long distances as well as getting out and in the vehicle many times throughout their working shift. Shifts are generally regular in nature but are subject to change based on staffing needs
