- Usesan appropriate problem-solvingapproach to plan services
- Provides cleaning support to non-patient areas without direct supervision
- Cleans andmaintainsstorage areas ensuring they are free from waste and debris
- Provides services with consideration of the physical, psychosocial, cultural/spiritual, and age-specific needs of those served
- Cleans patient rooms adequately andin a timely manneraccording to department guidelines
- Cleans exam rooms adequately andin a timely manneraccording to department guidelines
- Uses equipment and supplies correctly
- Demonstrates proper use of equipment by providing quality floor care in their assigned areas
- Cleans andmaintaindepartment equipment used in the daily completion of job duties
- Usesappropriate safetyand infection control measures
- While cleaning, the Environmental Aide checks the rooms for inoperative furnishings or fixtures, and reports problems to the department director
- Collects trash and soiled linen from assigned areas, transporting to collection or disposal site
- Teaches, directs,advisesand informs others inan appropriate manner
- The Environmental Aideassiststheir supervisor with training of new employees
- Reports and records information correctly
- After cleaning patient rooms, the Environmental Aide signs off that the rooms have been cleaned and leaves a tent card in each of the rooms
- Answers and responds to pages ina timelyand courteous manner
Responsibilities
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Effective communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Constantexposure to chemicals; infectious situations; exposed to blood, body fluids, and their associated odors; frequent stressful situations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Medium work
- Lifting 50 pounds maximum
- Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting up to 25 pounds
- Good vision and depth perception
AGE GROUPS SERVED: Allages from birth to senior adult.
Qualifications
Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Experience preferred from a professional setting.
